The Problem

Your labs are normal. You are not.

Brain fog and words that go missing
Mood, anxiety, and irritability you do not recognize
Weight that will not move, especially at the middle
Chronic fatigue that sleep does not fix
Night sweats and hot flashes
Cycles that turned unpredictable or heavy
Low libido and changes in intimacy
Labs that come back fine while you feel anything but

In perimenopause, hormones swing day to day, and a single blood draw rarely catches it. That is why so many women are told they are fine when they know they are not. You are not imagining it, and you are not too young. What you are feeling has a name, and it is deeply treatable when someone actually looks at the whole picture.

What Hormone Therapy Actually Is

Hormones your body recognizes.

Estrogen

Steadies the whole system.

Body identical estrogen, delivered by the route that fits you, patch, gel, or cream, to ease hot flashes, protect sleep, and bring clarity back to your thinking.

Progesterone

Calm, and protection.

Taken at night for a reason. It supports sleep and mood, and protects the uterine lining for women who need it. We match it to your body, not a template.

Testosterone

The hormone women rarely hear about.

Women make it too, and it carries much of drive, focus, and libido. When it fits your picture, we address it, the way the whole woman deserves.

Bioidentical means the hormones are the same as the ones your body already makes. We read them against your symptoms and your cycle, not a single reference range, and we adjust with you over time.

How Vieora Does It

One provider. The whole of you.

Not nine minutes and a shrug. A long first visit where your whole story is heard from start to finish, and your labs are ordered. Your plan is built around you once your results return, and from there we walk it together, with direct access between visits.

Vieora is direct pay on purpose, because insurance decides how long a visit can be and which parts of a woman it will pay attention to. Direct pay lets one provider treat the whole of you, hormones and weight and metabolism and mood, all at once, because they are not separate problems. They move together.

Is It Safe

The science moved on. The fear stayed behind.

A single study in 2002 frightened a generation of women and their doctors away from hormone therapy. The science has since been re read and clarified, and for many women, especially those who begin within the right window, hormone therapy is both safe and one of the most effective tools we have for this chapter.

Safe does not mean the same plan for everyone. It means we look at your history, your risks, and your goals, and we decide together. You get the real evidence, not the misinformation, so you can make an informed choice about your own body.

Care from someone who has been there.

Vieora is founded and led by Wahiba Kartaoui, a board certified nurse practitioner with more than a decade of clinical experience across primary care, internal medicine, women's health, and weight management. She was among the first providers to treat women's metabolic health with GLP-1 and GIP therapy, long before it reached the mainstream conversation. She previously served as Medical Director and Vice President of Operations at Bethany Medical, a large multi-city medical group.

In 2022 and 2023 she served on the City of Durham's Mayor's Council for Women, and in 2019 she was named to the Top 100 Women Leaders in Business by the High Point Chamber of Commerce.

She understands this chapter from the inside, too. Wahiba is navigating perimenopause herself, and she has ADHD, so she knows what it is to be told you are fine while your body says otherwise. She built Vieora as the practice she went looking for and could not find, one that treats the whole woman and meets her in her own language when needed, in English, Spanish, French, or Arabic.

Common Questions

Everything you have been wanting to ask.

Am I too young for perimenopause care?

Perimenopause can begin in the late thirties and forties, years before periods stop. If your body has changed and no one has explained why, you are not too young to be looked at properly.

My labs were normal. Can I still be treated?

Yes. In perimenopause a single blood draw often misses the swings that are causing your symptoms. We read the fuller picture against how you actually feel, not one number in isolation.

What is the difference between bioidentical and synthetic hormones?

Bioidentical hormones are identical in structure to the ones your body already makes. We use body identical therapy and choose the route, patch, gel, cream, or oral, that fits you.

Do you take insurance?

Vieora is direct pay by design, so your visit is as long as it needs to be and your whole picture is treated together. Medications and labs, when needed, are billed separately and kept transparent.

Which states do you serve?

Vieora provides telehealth in North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Maryland, and California, so you can be a patient in any of these six states today.

"I had my first visit a couple days ago and wow, I am impressed. Ms. Wahiba is very caring and sweet and listened to all my problems and concerns. I have been suffering with perimenopause symptoms like hot flashes, and I can never control my emotions anymore. Fortunately, Ms. Wahiba is very knowledgeable and ordered some blood work to follow up on. I can finally feel better about myself and my body."
