The old rules stopped working. It is not you.
Vieora is a fully virtual, concierge telehealth practice for women across North Carolina who are done being told to eat less and move more. In this chapter the body changes how it holds weight and uses insulin, and the plans that used to work were never built for it. We treat the metabolism and the hormones together, with one provider who sees the whole of you.
You are doing everything. The scale will not listen.
This is not a willpower problem. As estrogen changes, so does the way your body stores fat, handles sugar, and holds muscle. Real weight management here means treating the biology that actually changed, not blaming the woman living inside it.
Medicine that works with your biology.
Quiets the noise.
GLP-1 and GIP medicines calm the constant hunger signal and steady blood sugar, so the choices you want to make finally feel possible. This is a medical tool, prescribed and monitored, not a shortcut.
We protect your strength.
Weight loss is not the whole goal. We build the plan to preserve muscle with protein, movement, and the right pace, so you lose fat and keep the strength that carries you into your later decades.
Treated together.
Metabolism and hormones move together. When it fits your picture, we care for both at once, one provider, one plan, rather than sending you to separate clinics that never speak.
Not a prescription mill. A plan built around you.
A long first visit where your whole story and your labs are read together. If GLP-1 therapy fits you, we prescribe and monitor it properly, with direct access to your provider between visits, so dosing and side effects are managed by someone who knows you.
About the look people call Ozempic face. Rapid, unmanaged loss is what thins the face, not the medicine itself. A plan that protects muscle, paces the loss, and supports the skin is how you avoid it, and it is exactly the kind of care a single, attentive provider is built to give.
Care from someone who has been there.
Vieora is founded and led by Wahiba Kartaoui, a board certified nurse practitioner with more than a decade of clinical experience across primary care, internal medicine, women's health, and weight management. She was among the first providers to treat women's metabolic health with GLP-1 and GIP therapy, long before it reached the mainstream conversation. She previously served as Medical Director and Vice President of Operations at Bethany Medical, a large multi-city medical group.
In 2022 and 2023 she served on the City of Durham's Mayor's Council for Women, and in 2019 she was named to the Top 100 Women Leaders in Business by the High Point Chamber of Commerce.
She understands this chapter from the inside, too. Wahiba is navigating perimenopause herself, and she has ADHD, so she knows what it is to be told you are fine while your body says otherwise. She built Vieora as the practice she went looking for and could not find, one that treats the whole woman and meets her in her own language when needed, in English, Spanish, French, or Arabic.
Everything you have been wanting to ask.
Will I lose muscle on a GLP-1?
Any significant weight loss can cost muscle if it is not managed. We build your plan to protect it, with adequate protein, strength movement, and a sensible pace, so you lose fat and keep your strength.
What is Ozempic face, really?
It is the hollowing that can come with rapid, unmanaged loss, not a direct effect of the drug. Pacing the loss, protecting muscle, and supporting the skin is how we help you avoid it.
Can I do hormones and a GLP-1 at the same time?
Often, yes, and for many women that combination is exactly right, because metabolism and hormones move together. We decide based on your full picture.
Is this covered by insurance?
Vieora is direct pay, which keeps your visit unhurried and your care whole. The medication itself is billed by the pharmacy that fills it, and we keep your costs transparent.
Which states do you serve?
Vieora provides telehealth in North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Maryland, and California, so you can be a patient in any of these six states today.
Real women, real relief.
“I had my first visit a couple days ago and wow, I am impressed. Ms. Wahiba is very caring and sweet and listened to all my problems and concerns. I have been suffering with perimenopause symptoms like hot flashes, and I can never control my emotions anymore. Fortunately, Ms. Wahiba is very knowledgeable and ordered some blood work to follow up on. I can finally feel better about myself and my body.”
